For a couple months, it really looked like Ana and Tom would be winning Most Surprising Couple of 2025. In February, the two were seen getting dinner in London together—on Valentine’s Day—and in the following months, they continued to be photographed arriving to London via helicopter. (No, Tom did not jump out of it.) In July, the two actors were spotted enjoying a relaxing day on a yacht off the coast of Menorca, Spain. Later that month, paps caught them holding hands in Vermont.

But by October, the Daily Mail reported that the two had broken up, quoting a source who said they had decided to remain friends and colleagues. And now, a new report from People is casting doubt on whether or not they were ever dating to begin with.

According to the report, a source described Tom as a “dear friend and mentor” to Ana—notably not as a boyfriend or even a celebrity crush! The source then added that Ana “very much enjoys spending time with him,” and said, “She’s single, though, and has been for a while.” So, either Ana and Tom broke up a while ago or...they were never actually dating to begin with.

Whatever happened between the two, it seems clear that their relationship going forward is going to be platonic and professional. “She stays in touch with Tom,” the source added. “And they still have an upcoming movie project that she’s looking forward to.”

Ana and Tom are reportedly working on an action project together alongside Tom’s frequent collaborators, filmmakers Doug Liman and Christopher McQuarrie.
