- There’s talk of a Gilmore Girls reunion...so stay tuned.
Lorelei and Rory Gilmore are back! While we stilllllll haven’t gotten a firm answer about who the father of Rory’s baby is (patiently waiting), we did get a mini Gilmore Girls reunion at the 2025 Emmys. Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel showed up to walk the red carpet, and the timing couldn’t be more on point considering it’s going to shortly be fall, aka Gilmore Girls season.
Lauren Graham stepped out wearing a gorgeous black dress with cutouts from Akris, telling ET of everyone’s love for Gilmore Girls, “It’s the incredible writing that meets you no matter what age you, are you keep rediscovering the language. And it’s their relationship at the core—who doesn’t want to be friends with their mom and their kid?"
Meanwhile, Alexis Bledel wore a silver sequined strapless gown, looking truuuly glam.

Later on in the night, they effectively transported viewers back to Stars Hollow by presenting the award for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series together from the front steps of the Gilmore’s home.
“25 years ago, a show called Gilmore Girls premiered and apparently took the season of fall hostage,” Lauren joked. The accuracy!

So...when are we going to get another actual Gilmore Girls reunion? Unclear, but Lauren did recently tease that she’d be down for a Christmas special.
“Given everyone’s lives and schedules, it’s a Christmas movie,” she said on Armchair Expert back in March. “It’s not me trying to get out of the question. It is literally what I could picture. I think [what] the Brits do so well with their beloved shows is that you get a Christmas special. It’s not episodes, but it’s seeing all your friends together again.”
Meanwhile, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino said, “The freaking Christmas Special. I’m hearing it from everybody else!” Alas, she also added, “There’s no talks right now.”
Hopefully the reunion tonight changes things?
