Lee Jong Won And Kim Do Yeon In Talks To Star In New Romance Drama By “Doona!” Writer
by M Lim · SoompiLee Jong Won and Kim Do Yeon may be starring together in a new drama!
On July 18, MyDaily reported that Lee Jong Won and Kim Do Yeon have been cast as the male and female leads of “Wish Upon a Moon Flower” (literal title).
Later that day, a representative from Lee Jong Won’s agency THEBLACKLABEL clarified, “‘Wish Upon a Moon Flower’ is a project he has been offered and is currently reviewing.” Similarly, a representative from Kim Do Yeon’s agency Fantagio stated, “She is still reviewing the offer to appear in ‘Wish Upon a Moon Flower.’”
“Wish Upon a Moon Flower” tells the story of Yang Cho Seol, a woman who forges swords in a village of prisoners of war, and Baek Je Hee, a general from an enemy nation who has defected. Despite their twisted and tragic fates, the two find themselves irresistibly drawn to each other.
The drama will be penned by Jang Yoo Ha, the writer of Netflix’s “Doona!”
Lee Jong Won is in talks to play Baek Je Hee, the greatest warrior and general of the Gaero Kingdom. Though he has inherited his mother’s striking beauty, his fierce and deadly gaze is intimidating. Known for his cruel and merciless nature, he shows no compassion or sympathy and keeps everyone at arm’s length.
Kim Do Yeon has been offered the role of Yang Cho Seol, a master swordsmith. Even while working all day covered in ashes, she remains as pure and elegant as a freshly bloomed peony. Her seemingly delicate yet upright posture exudes dignity, and the sharp intelligence in her deep, dark eyes keeps even the roughest men from daring to approach her carelessly.
