Will the Switch 2 be weird enough?

Going into the Switch 2 announcement, my big concern was where the gimmick would be in the new console.

As we broke down previously, Nintendo has always offered something unique with various consoles, and an iterative Switch upgrade neither feels unique or exciting.

that said, we had seen the rumors about a mouse-like Joy-Con but weren't quite sure what that meant. It's still unclear from the teaser, but seeing the new Joy-Cons in a bit of action made me very curious what Nintendo might do with a mouse-esque controller.

My first thought was that Sid Meier's Civ series would play way better on console with a mouse. But what else could it do? Especially with access to all the other buttons on the Joy-Con, even if they are in strange places compared to a normal mouse.

The mouse controller is suitably weird for a console and I can't wait to see how Nintendo integrates it into games.

However, is that weird enough? Maybe. Personally, I'm hoping Nintendo has a bit more up its sleeve.
