‘Dexter: Resurrection’ Adds Uma Thurman to Cast

Uma Thurman has been cast in “Dexter: Resurrection” at Paramount+ with Showtime, Variety has confirmed.

As previously announced, “Dexter” star Michael C. Hall will reprise the role of the titular serial killer in the series. No specific plot details are available for “Resurrection,” but the series will serve as a direct followup to “Dexter: New Blood.” Additional cast members include David Zayas, James Remar, and Jack Alcott.

Thurman will appear in the series regular role of Charley, described as “the Head of Security for mysterious billionaire Leon Prater. A former Special Ops officer, Charley worked various high-level private security jobs before taking on her position as the resourceful and meticulous right-hand woman for Prater.”

Although Thurman is best known for her feature roles, she was previously nominated for an Emmy for her guest role in the series “Smash” and won a Golden Globe for her work in the HBO film “Hysterical Blindness.” She also recently appeared in the shows “Super Pumped” (a Showtime series) and “Suspicion.” Thurman was nominated for an Academy Award for “Pulp Fiction” in 1995. She went on to collaborate again with “Pulp Fiction’s “Quentin Tarantino in the two “Kill Bill” films. Her recent credits include the films “Oh Canada,” “Red, White, and Royal Blue,” and “Hollywood Stargirl.”

She is repped by CAA, Untitled Entertainment, and Hansen Jacobson.

“Resurrection” is the latest attempt to expand the “Dexter” world. Along with “New Blood,” Paramount recently launched the prequel series “Dexter: Original Sin” with Patrick Gibson in the lead role and with Hall providing voiceover narration.

Clyde Phillips serves as showrunner and executive producer on “Dexter: Resurrection.” Hall is also an executive producer along with Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns. Marcos Siega will produce and direct. Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios will produce. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
