Barbara Lawrence, a longtime entertainment manager, died Jan. 2 in Manhattan. She was 82.

Lawrence died on a family vacation due to natural causes.

Through her years as a talent manager in the entertainment industry, Lawrence was the longtime manager of Rue McClanahan (“The Golden Girls“) and Alan Rachins (“Dharma and Greg” and “LA Law”), and announced the former’s death to the press in 2010. Lawrence was also an early manager for Chris Evans (“The Avengers”) and Traylor Howard (“Monk”), among others.

Lawrence was the matriarch of a family deeply involved in the show business. She is survived by her husband Richard Lawrence, the longtime industry agent at Rebel Entertainment Partners and former Association of Talent Agents board of directors member, her son Seth Lawrence, an agent at Independent Artist Group, his wife Denise Draper, a manager at Range Media Partners, and their four children Daelyn, Madden, Wyatt and Cole, as well as her son Evan Lawrence, who is an Account Executive at Upstaging, Inc., a concert touring and live event production company, and his wife Jill Anenberg-Lawrence, who is an author, holistic nutritionist and life coach.

Lawrence’s family and friends came together to celebrate her life this past weekend on what would have been Lawrence’s 83rd birthday.
