‘One Piece’ Season 3 Starts Production; Mikaela Hoover, Joe Manganiello, Lera Abova, Sendhil Ramamurthy Promoted to Series Regulars

One Piece” Season 3 is officially in production for Netflix in Cape Town, South Africa.

As previously announced, the streamer renewed the live-action adaptation of the beloved manga and anime series for a third season ahead of the Season 2 premiere, which is slated for March 10, 2026.

In addition, Season 2 cast members Mikaela Hoover (Chopper), Joe Manganiello (Mr. 0), Lera Abova (Miss All Sunday) and Sendhil Ramamurthy (Nefartari Cobra) have all been promoted to series regular status for the third season.

The cast also includes returning stars Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero, and Taz Skylar as well as the aforementioned new cast members in addition to Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday. It was also recently announced that Cole Escola had joined Season 3 as Bon Clay, while Xolo Maridueña will play Portgas D. Ace.

Season 2 of the show is officially titled “One Piece: Into the Grand Line.” The official logline for the season states:

“Netflix’s epic high-seas pirate adventure, ‘One Piece,’ returns for Season 2—unleashing fiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yet. Luffy (Godoy) and the Straw Hats set sail for the extraordinary Grand Line—a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. As they journey through this unpredictable realm in search of the world’s greatest treasure, they’ll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies.”

Matt Owns and Joe Tracz are showrunners, writers, and executive producers on Season 2. Tracz and Ian Stokes fill those roles for Season 3. Other executive producers include “One Piece” creator Eiichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, Christoph Schrewe, and Steven Maeda. The show is created in partnership with Shueisha and is produced by Tomorrow Studios (an ITV Studios partner) and Netflix.
