‘Last of Us’ Season 3 Casts Michelle Mao as Yara, Kyriana Kratter as Lev

Michelle Mao and Kyriana Kratter have joined “The Last of Us” Season 3 at HBO, Variety has confirmed.

Mao will star as Yara will Kratter will play Lev. Returning cast for the season includes Kaitlyn Dever, Bella Ramsey, Isabella Merced, Gabriel Luna, and Jeffrey Wright. In addition, Ariela Barer, Tati Gabrielle, and Spencer Lord have all been promoted to series regular status for the show’s third season. Previously announced new cast members are Clea Duvall, Patrick Wilson, Jason Ritter, and Jorge Lendeborg Jr, with Lendeborg taking over the role of Manny.

Mao can currently be seen in Season 4 of “Bridgerton” in the role of Rosamund Li. She also starred in the feature “Zi,” which premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival. Kratter recently starred in the Disney+ series “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” and has also been seen in the Disney series “Bunk’d.”

Kratter is repped by Paradigm and Complete Management Group. Mao is repped by MGMT Entertainment, Allegory Creative Talent and Gang Tyre Ramer.

“The Last of Us” was renewed for a third season in 2025 ahead of the Season 2 premiere. Based on the hit video game franchise of the same name, the show takes place in a world decimated by a widespread fungal infection that has turned much of the population into zombie-esque creatures.

The series was co-created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, though it was previously revealed that Druckmann was exiting the show ahead of Season 3. Mazin will also be the sole showrunner for Season 3 in addition to writing and executive producing. The series is a co-production between HBO and Sony Pictures Television and is executive produced by Carolyn Strauss, Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O’Connor, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Evan Wells. PlayStation Productions, Word Games, Mighty Mint, and Naughty Dog produce.
