by · WORLD OF BUZZ

HBO and Firefly Casting have announced a global talent search for the upcoming Crazy Rich Asians: The Series, giving aspiring actors around the world a chance to be part of the highly anticipated adaptation.

The announcement was made through Instagram, where they revealed that they are currently looking for actors to take on the roles of Posy and William.

Casting call for Malaysians for Crazy Rich Asians: The Series!

For those auditioning for Posy, the casting poster describes her as an East Asian woman in her 30s who is a former socialite and social climber, fluent in English and familiar with Mandarin.

The poster describes Posy as:

“Beautiful, glamorous and brazenly ambitious, Posy is a former socialite and social climber whose marriage to a notorious tycoon has come crashing down. Flamboyant, shameless and unapologetic, with an insatiable appetite for wealth, status and attention. Equal parts outrageous, calculating and oddly endearing.”

Meanwhile, William is described as a handsome Chinese man in his 20s and the son of a Shanghai real estate billionaire, who is fluent in English and conversational in Mandarin.

“Charming, thrill-seeking ‘princeling’ with a mischievous streak and a larger-than-life personality. Surprisingly open-hearted, whose genuine warmth and desire for connection reveal a depth that belies his carefree exterior.”
