CMAT and Amble win big at RTÉ Choice Music Awards
· RTE.ieThe RTÉ Choice Music Prize Album Of The Year for 2025 has been awarded to CMAT for her album EURO-COUNTRY.
The announcement was made by Barry Devlin of Horslips at an event in Vicar Street, Dublin, after the judging panel of Irish music media professionals met to select the winner from 10 shortlisted albums.
It's the second Choice Music Prize Album Of The Year winner for the 'Dunboyne Diana', who also received the Irish Artist of the Year award, presented by Beta Da Silva of RTÉ 2FM.
CMAT received a cheque for €10,000 along with a specially commissioned award. The prize fund was provided by the Irish Music Rights Organisation and the Irish Recorded Music Association.
The event was hosted by Tracy Clifford of RTÉ 2FM, and featured live performances from six of the nominated artists.
In other awards, Amble won Irish Song of the Year for the song Schoolyard Days. The winner was chosen by public vote from a shortlist of 10 songs through the RTÉ 2FM and Choice Music Prize websites.
The result was announced by Clifford on her radio show earlier in the day.
Amble also won Breakthrough Irish Artist of the Year, presented by DJ Próvai of KNEECAP.
During the ceremony, 2FM's Louise Duffy welcomed members of Horslips—Barry Devlin, Eamon Carr and Jim Lockhart—to the stage to collect the Classic Irish Album award for their 1973 LP The Táin.

The RTÉ Choice Music Prize, established in 2005, annually recognises Irish recorded music.
Recent winners of the Album Of The Year award include Fontaines D.C. in 2025 for Romance and Lankum in 2024 for False Lankum.
CMAT previously won the prize in 2022, for her debut album If My Wife New I'd Be Dead.
