Brendan and Domhnall Gleeson to star in The Simpsons
· RTE.ieFather-and-son duo Brendan and Domhnall Gleeson are set to guest star in season 37 of The Simpsons later this month.
In the upcoming episode Sashes to Sashes, airing on 16 November, the pair share the role of Mayor Quimby's father, Joe Quimby Sr., bringing him to life at different ages.
According to the plot synopsis, "Bart runs against Mayor Quimby's son for student council president, while Lisa learns troubling secrets about the Quimby clan… and about the Simpsons."
Other A-listers set to light up Springfield this season include Kieran Culkin, Glenn Howerton, Albert Brooks, Cole Escola, Danny Pudi and Adam Pally.
Already the longest-running animated TV series in history, The Simpsons will continue through at least season 40.
When the new seasons were announced, 20th Television head Marci Proietto said: "This historic four-season order from our longtime partners at FOX is truly monumental for these iconic animated series."
Season 37 will also see The Simpsons’ 800th episode in 2026.
