With that perspective, the All-Star outfielder didn’t view the reception the all-time Mets home run leader received from fans in the ballpark after hitting career blast No. 300 on Tuesday as offensive toward the home team.

“I don’t think they turned on us,” Soto said Wednesday before the Mets played their series finale against the Orioles. “I think they just cheered for him. He did everything for this city, for this organization, and I feel like they appreciated it and they were cheering for him.”
