Strictly's Wynne Evans replaced on It Takes Two after pulling out of studio appearance
by Abbie Bray, Tianna Corbin · Wales OnlineAudiences tuned into Wednesday's edition of "It Takes Two" expecting a catch-up with Wynne Evans and his dance partner Katya Jones, only to be greeted by a change in the line-up.
Within moments, programme presenter Janette Manrara revealed the unexpected tweak to viewers.
Fleur East had previously confirmed Wynne's anticipated appearance on Wednesday's show; however, circumstances shifted at the eleventh hour.
Janette explained to viewers: "If you've got any questions like, 'Why are Chris and Dianne on when yesterday we said it was going to be Wynne and Katya? ' It's live TV, guys. You've got to roll with it, alright? Just roll with it."
The swap didn't go unnoticed, with fans swiftly voicing their puzzlement over social media, reports the Mirror.
One viewer quipped on Twitter: "Obsessed with Janette addressing the change. It was meant to be Wynne today but it's Chris and Dianne instead. I wonder where Wynne is today?"
Queries mounted as another asked, "What's wrong with Wynne And Katya?"
Curiosity continued to buzz online with another post reading, "Wonder why the sudden guest swap for it takes two tonight #strictly."
The reason behind Wynne and Katya's last-minute withdrawal from "It Takes Two" remains undisclosed, with no explanation provided by them on social platforms.
The Sunday before saw Wynne Evans face the prospect of elimination after landing in the dance-off against Shayne Ward, leaving the judges noticeably divided on who should continue in the competition.
Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse voted in favour of keeping Shayne in the competition, while Anton Du Beke leant towards Wynne's corner. This left it to head judge Shirley Ballas to cast the final vote.
Ultimately, Shirley cast her vote for Wynne and Katya, thereby concluding Shayne's journey on the show.
Reflecting on his experience, Shayne expressed: "I just want to say, you guys up there [the other contestants] are a dream. Every single day, coming in here and seeing you guys you helped me so much.
"I want to say thank you to the audience as well for always being amazing for us all. This has been, honestly, one of the best things I've ever done."
His dance partner Nancy shared her sentiments: "I'm beyond proud of this dance partnership. Shayne from week one until this point, every second you put your feet on the dance floor you improved yourself.
"You're a deep thinker, you always doubt yourself, you never believed yourself, but I never ever questioned you. When I watch you, I feel proud because I've turned someone who has never ever danced in their life into an amazing dancer. You should believe in yourself. I adored this partnership."
Strictly It Takes Two airs daily at 6.30pm on BBC Two.
