ITV Good Morning Britain star 'so scared' as they're forced to evacuate LA home
by Shivon Watson · Wales OnlineRoss King, the entertainment correspondent, has admitted to feeling "so scared" as he faces the prospect of evacuating his Los Angeles home due to the encroaching wildfires.
The Hollywood Hills have been hit with a mandatory evacuation order in the past day as wildfires continue to ravage parts of Los Angeles, USA. Ross, who resides in LA, conveyed his concerns and current situation to Good Morning Britain hosts Ranvir Singh and Ed Balls through a video call.
He opened up about the ordeal, stating: "We're under evacuation orders at the moment. They're not mandatory, but I tell you, it's such a weird feeling when you're packing up the car. You know we're getting everything ready."
"You go round the house and you take photographs and you're thinking 'this might be the last time you actually see the house,' and that's why your heart breaks when you see so many homes, you know we're talking about thousands of structures gone."
King also shared personal stories of friends affected by the disaster, saying: "I've got friends in Malibu who lost their house on a beach, three other people I know have completely lost their homes and when you get that feeling it is one of the weirdest and one of the scariest things that I've gone through!"
The 62 year old broadcaster further expressed that in his quarter-century in Los Angeles, he had never witnessed such destruction, praising the firefighters for their heroic efforts amidst the crisis, reports the Manchester Evening News.
"We've been so fortunate that the winds haven't been too bad in this area, the helicopters could get in and they could drop a load of water and hopefully put out the majority of the fire that is going on at the moment. But it really is, it's so scary!" he added.
Across the region, numerous residents have felt the impact of the devastating fires, which have not spared even well-known personalities.
Recent updates have confirmed that celebrities such as Billy Crystal and Paris Hilton are among those who have suffered losses due to the wildfires. Additionally, in an emotional segment on CNN, actor James Woods was seen tearfully recounting the loss of his Pacific Palisades home.
