Britain's Got Talent's Amanda Holden says 'a star is born' as Golden Buzzer leaves judges stunned
by Sara Baalla · Wales OnlineBritain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden was left speechless by an act on Saturday, saying, "Oh my god" in astonishment.
During the latest episode, the judging panel, consisting of Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, Bruno Tonioli, and guest judge KSI, resumed searching for an act worthy of the Royal Variety Performance.
They were introduced to 11-year-old Oliver, who arrived at Blackpool's Winter Gardens with his electric guitar. Having learned from his grandfather, Oliver expressed his ambition to become the world's greatest guitarist.
Despite admitting to being "very nervous," Oliver stunned the audience with his exceptional guitar-playing skills, performing unique renditions of Van Halen's "Jump" and Queen's 1979 hit "Don't Stop Me Now."
The audience cheered following the audition, prompting Amanda to exclaim: "Oh my god," and hit the golden buzzer, reports the Express.
Amanda gushed, "I mean, literally a star is born, I have never ever seen anything like that in my life," as golden confetti rained down on the stage.
Alesha added, "When you said you want to be the best guitar player in the world, I thought this young man is going to go far. Congratulations on a well-deserved golden buzzer."
KSI, visibly stunned, stated, "Oliver, you're eleven and you're already a star. I loved it, it was crazy, you were like a completely different person, especially when you were right here and looking at our eyes and playing your heart out."
"You know what, you already have a very distinct sound which normally takes people decades, you're that good. I mean, seriously good! That was brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Good for you, go and celebrate," Simon concluded.
As Oliver walked off the stage to meet Ant and Dec, he confessed that receiving a golden buzzer was unexpected and then shared an emotional embrace with his beaming grandad.
After Oliver's thrilling audition, BGT enthusiasts immediately flocked to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express their enthusiasm. One user commented, "Simply astonishing performance by an 11-year-old boy playing electric guitar on #BGT Golden button from Amanda Holden quite rightly."
Another viewer posted: "He deserved the golden buzzer and im so happy for him! !", and a third person remarked: "Very well deserved for the golden buzzer well done super star."
Adding to the chorus of praise, a fourth fan expressed: "Wow wow so proud of him he is absolutely a star in his young age wow so so happy."
