The Traitors' Linda breaks silence after exit as she admits thing she 'never thought' would happen

by · Wales Online

Last night's episode of The Traitors was full of action, with Linda finally being unmasked as a Traitor.

Linda faced a barrage of accusations during the Round Table before receiving the most votes and being banished. Seven players wrote her name, including fellow Traitor Minah.

As she left the Round Table, Linda said: “Guys, I’ve had the most amazing time, this has been the pinnacle of my life and to experience this at my age and get this far, I’ve had a whale of a time, so thanks for it! I am a Traitor.”

Linda has been under suspicion for a while, and her shock exit means that only one Traitor remains in the game.

Linda has since revealed that she was initially nervous about being selected as a Traitor, but enjoyed the experience. When asked if she was happy to be a Traitor, she said: "Absolutely! Although I have to say when Claudia was going around the table I started to panic, thinking no I don’t want to be one, don’t choose me! Once I got over it, I absolutely loved it."

Speaking about her fellow contestants, Linda said: "It was a very loud bunch! There were quite a lot of very big personalities, and I thought I’m a big personality but boy, there were some really big personalities. But all lovely. Everybody hugged, it was so nice, we were all in the same boat."

Linda said she didn't have a strategy when she went into the show, and when asked if she would have done anything differently she said: "I think I would have stood up for myself more.

"I realised that in that group of people they were so vocal and I wasn’t as vocal as I could have been. I think Jake mentioned on the last round table when I defended myself that that was the first time he’d heard me defend myself.

"I would have been more vocal, but it's difficult because everyone has things to say, and I was just listening. Because I was a Traitor and knew who the Traitors were, it was difficult to pick people to accuse because I knew they weren’t!"

Asked what she'd take away from the experience, Linda had some realisations: "I’m a good liar short-term to people I don’t know, but not a good liar when its long-term and with people I actually get to like. I’ve realised I’m not as good a liar as I thought I was!"

Linda went on to say she had come to accept her banishment: "I’m okay with it. I’m really proud that I wasn’t the first Traitor who left. I’m proud that I made it that far because I seriously thought I’d go out pretty quickly. I was told I got as far as Paul did in the last series and I never thought I’d get that far."

The Traitors continues on BBC One and iPlayer at 9pm tonight (January 16)
