Andy Whyment wants Alan Halsall to do a Bushtucker Trial on 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!'

The 43-year-old actor has appeared alongside Alan on ITV soap opera 'Coronation Street' for more than 20 years and now that his co-star is competing on the broadcaster's jungle reality show, he has called for him to face one of the grisly challenges to win food for the camp.

Speaking on ITV's 'Lorraine', he said: "I think he's doing really well. I'd like to see a bit more of him. I think being Camp Leader doesn't really help because he can't really get involved in anything, that's not done him any favours really. But I just want him to do a trial. Please hope for him to a trial."

So far, radio host Dean McCullough has faced the most trials, whilst others such as 'Loose Women' star GK Barry and WAG Coleen Rooney have also had a turn.

Alan was previously married to former co-star Lucy-Jo Hudson and has Sienna, 11, with her and then had a relationship with access Tisha Merry - who played Steph Britton on the soap - but now that romance appears to be brewing between himself and N-Dubz star Tulisa, Andy has wished him "luck" with it all.

He said: "I think he's enjoying it, he's thrown himself into it but now that he's not Camp Leader anymore, he can get involved now. [Him and Tulisa] seem to be getting on really well so I'm sure there's been a few conversations and obviously won the first trial together on the very first show so yeah, good luck to

him. He's a single lad, I think Tulisa is single so we'lll see what happens. Watch this space."

Andy braved the Australian outback himself in 2019 and revealed that the only advice he gave to his colleague was that he needed to get a bed in the jungle as opposed to a hammock.

He said: "I knew he was going in, the only advice I gave him was 'Please try and get a bed' because I had to sleep in a hammock. And, for me, sleeping in a hammock was so tough. I really did struggle with it. But obviously he got Camp Leader so he got a nice comfortable bed. Not sure if he's got a bed now because we've not seen too much of him. But I hope he has."
