"We just got confirmation," Jen continued. "Our whole area demolished. So many are displaced and feeling scared right now it's almost too much to comprehend. Our neighbours are all taking care of one another and checking in and that's the theme for 2025. We're going to be ok."

She added: "We always push thru. I'm just so sad I left my Grandma Atkin's church blazer with her tissues and tictacs in the pockets. I also left chewys little grave. I love you guys thx for the warm blanket of love today."

Wildfires are spreading rapidly across California, forcing thousands of people to evacuate. Areas affected include Malibu, the Hollywood Hills and Runyon Canyon.

According to officials, ten people have lost their lives, over 1000 homes have been destroyed and 70,000 people have been evacuated. The situation has been declared a state of emergency as firefighters struggle to contain the fires due to water shortages and strong winds.

Homes belonging to celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Harrison Ford and Billy Crystal have also been destroyed. Fires have been reported in Hurst, Eaton, Woodley, Palisades and Runyon Canyon, covering more than 25,000 acres.

The smoke is so extensive that it can be seen from space, according to the Nasa Space Observatory. With the declaration of a state of emergency, all resources are being utilised to control the fires. President Joe Biden has responded to the crisis by approving additional aid.
