SAS Rogue Heroes season 2 start date, cast, episode count and plot
by Katie Palmer · Wales OnlineSAS Rogue Heroes is gearing up for a stunning comeback on BBC One, launching an all-new series which starts with David Stirling (played by Connor Swindells) assigning the leadership role to Paddy Mayne (portrayed by Jack O'Connell) during his captivity.
As a true renegade, Paddy ushers in a distinctively unconventional style of command, keeping everyone on their toes. The series creator, Steven Knight, shared some insights: "Paddy is the one that punches the commanding officer, rather than being the commanding officer."
He explained his fascination with Paddy's handling of the situation, saying, "What intrigued me throughout reading the history was how Paddy handled that, and he did manage it in an extraordinary and different way. I wanted Paddy front and centre, to examine his character, not gloss over some of the flaws and understand as I think with all of the men actually that they were chosen by war."
The plot thickens as doubts arise about the future of the regiment at GHQ, complications stem from the creation of a second unit, and the assimilation of new comrades adds to the existing challenges. With the odds stacked against them, the team must prove their crucial role in the war effort, regardless of where duty calls.
