Molly-Mae Hague 'wishes' Tommy Fury split was 'publicity stunt' as she teases documentary details

by · Wales Online

Molly-Mae Hague has expressed her annoyance at online reactions to her break-up with Tommy Fury, ahead of her forthcoming revealing documentary.

Scheduled for release on Amazon Prime Video this Friday (January 17), Molly-Mae: Behind It All offers an intimate look into the TV star's life. The six-part series explores how she balances content creation, managing two businesses, and motherhood to two-year-old Bambi.

The documentary also delves into the aftermath of her split with fellow Love Island participant Tommy. However, the businesswoman, 25, has refuted suggestions that the docu-series is a 'break-up documentary'.

At the launch of her candid show, Molly-Mae conceded that while viewers can anticipate her discussing the split in a 'very honest' manner, there is 'so much more' to the upcoming documentary, reports Lancs Live.

"Obviously, we do talk about the break-up and it [the documentary] does discuss the break-up and we're very honest in what we share about the break-up."

"But it's so much more than a break-up documentary, it focuses on parts of my life that I haven't really delved into before. At the minute we're still filming, but in the following few episodes we touch on motherhood, we talk a lot about body confidence, running my two businesses and doing all of that whilst having a two-year-old and navigating it all through a break-up," she explained.

The social media influencer and mother of one, with her ex-boyfriend Tommy whom she met during 2019's series of ITV's Love Island, left fans in disbelief after announcing their split in August 2024.

Not long after the pair went separate ways, Molly-Mae unveiled her fresh fashion line Maebe on Instagram. The brand's September debut raised eyebrows, leading to murmurs of the break-up being nothing but a 'publicity stunt'.

Yet, Molly-Mae has countered these whispers, admitting that dealing with such chatter has been burdensome. She expressed: "That for me, above everything, has been the most frustrating part. Because, I actually say in the documentary that I wish it was a publicity stunt. Because it would be a lot easier. Because going through all of this, with the turmoil of the break-up, has been incredibly hard."

"To have those comments, and I do see the comments, I see all of them - with people saying 'this has obviously just been done to promote her brand or as a publicity stunt' - that is very painful to read because it's real life."

"Tommy and I have a baby together and it's very very real and it's a really hard thing that we've both gone through in the last six months. I wish it was a publicity stunt because it would be a lot easier - but it isn't."

Despite the irritation caused by doubters, Molly-Mae believes the upcoming documentary will shed light on the genuine reasons behind their parting, intimating: "I think this documentary will clear up any questions on that [the break-up]," she concluded.

The first three episodes of Molly-Mae: Behind It All debut on Amazon Prime on Friday, January 17. The latter three episodes will drop in Spring 2025.
