BBC Gladiators' Bradley Walsh told off by co-star as fans plead 'Get him out of here!'

The much-anticipated quarter-final of Gladiators aired on Saturday night, with previous contestants returning to face more challenges.

The male competitors kicked off the evening with their first challenge, Unleash. Hammer pursued contestant Lewis across an obstacle course.

Lewis managed to grab a flag and leap into a pit before Hammer could catch him, much to his delight.

However, referee Mark Clattenberg had to review the footage before announcing: "I can confirm that you did it, and I can give you ten points."

Host Bradley Walsh retorted: "I'm not being funny but I could have told you that, could have saved you faffing around on the telly," reports the Mirror.

Mark wasn't amused and confronted Bradley, saying: "Bradley, I'm the referee of the arena, any more of your back chat and I'll send you out of the arena."

The crowd started booing as Bradley pulled faces, leading Mark to instruct one of his referees to address him.

Assistant referee Sonia Mkoloma approached the host and warned: "Less back chat before she and Lee Phillips jokingly escorted him away.

As he was led away, he yelled: "Ten points for Lewis, ten points for Lewis, I say," as the camera cut to Hammer heading back to the changing room to join his fellow Gladiators.

The exchange thoroughly entertained viewers at home and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their reactions.

One viewer remarked, "That's Bradley being told off by Mark Clattenberg. Anyway, it's time for The Wall #Gladiators."

Another voiced their thoughts: "#Gladiators Ooh, Mark telling off Bradley! Get him out of here!".

A different individual inquired: "Mr Clattenberg can get rid of the hosts? #Gladiators."

Yet another enthusiast commented: "Lewis held on to the flag... JUST! 10 points for him and a warning for Bradley! #Gladiators."

Despite his efforts, Lewis could not surpass fellow contestant Joe and did not advance to the next stage of the competition.

Gladiators continues next Saturday at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
