"I won't speak about this specifically," Snow said of her divorce on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast in March 2024. "I think this goes with a lot of my past relationships or things that I tell my friends, which is to actually start realizing and seeing them as real people, and not this idealized version of what you thought or what you built, but who they are really."
According to Snow, she saw a different side of Stanaland on the first season of Netflix's Selling the OC. (As fans remember, several of Stanaland's costars attempted to flirt with him and give him "noseys" or kisses.)
Snow further revealed on the podcast that the onscreen drama was like "a neon f***ing sign" of a red flag.
Despite the drama, the Hunting Wives actress can still remember happy days with Stanaland.
"There was a marriage there. There was so much love," she recalled. "I think that gray [area] is hard to understand because it's much more salacious and interesting that it's just like, ‘He did this, and she did this.' I think a lot of people go into relationships where someone hurts them, but I don't regret it. I don't regret anything that happened. I loved that time that we had when we had it."
Brittany Snow Responds to ‘Selling the OC' Drama
"I was not aware of a lot of things, and I'll say that," she told "Call Her Daddy" host Alex Cooper. "I will say, what people think happened, happened. [The cast] took up a lot of energy and emotion and time and real estate in my head, and I don't want to give them any more time and energy because then they would win and they would get what they wanted, which was getting my time and energy and attention."
Brittany Snow's Divorce Affected Her Health
While speaking with Self in November 2025, Snow revealed that she could barely eat after she and Stanaland separated.
"I'd be like, ‘OK, baby girl, do you want a bagel? Let's get you a bagel. We're going to toast it,'" Snow told the magazine, revealing how she combatted her disordered eating habits. "I started realizing that I was eating whatever I wanted. [It] completely changed my way of thinking about my body. I was talking to myself like someone I loved. And then, I just never stopped doing that."
Finding Solace in Literature
"Glennon Doyle really, really helped me a lot when I was going through my divorce," Snow told Bustle in September 2025, referring to Doyle's Untamed. "This book was recommended to me from another friend of mine who had just gone through a divorce, and she was like, ‘Get it right now. This is the first thing that you need to read.' And I was like, ‘I know about Glennon Doyle obviously, but I'm not going to subscribe to this.' And then, I ate it up. It really did help."
She continued, "In any heartbreak, you have that time of wallowing and feeling sorry for yourself, and you're doing all the work, but if someone had an option for you and was like ‘You can either have this love and feel all the feelings and have these great amazing moments, but you're going to feel this pain and heartbreak.'"
How Brittany Snow Embraced the Single Life
During her "Call Her Daddy" appearance, Snow said that she had been "in and out of" casual relationships since her divorce.
"I've been, let's use air quotes here, single weirdly. I'm not saying weirdly, it's so weird for me to be single," she explained in March 2024. "I'm saying weirdly because it's very easy for me to get in a relationship, and I've been actively trying to be alone and be with myself and just feel the feelings and not have to band-aid it with sparkly, shiny, emotional things."
Brittany Snow Is Open to Falling in Love Again
"Personally - and this isn't for everyone - I would choose having the love and then the heartbreak because I love feeling everything," she told Bustle in September 2025. "I just love being in love, and so I would do it again. I would always choose it."
