Jessie J Seemingly Calls Ex Channing Tatum a 'Beast' in New Song

· The Fresno Bee

Jessie J seemingly made a dig at ex Channing Tatum in her new song, "Threw It Away."

The singer, 37, gave fans a sneak peak of the track and her upcoming album Don't Tease Me With A Good Time, according to a report from The Sun published on Tuesday, November 25.

"I put my heart out on the table / That's when it got uncomfortable / But oh that karma is gonna come one day / 'Cause I gave you my love and you threw it away," Jessie sings, per the outlet.

Later on in the tune, Jessie (real name Jessica Ellen Cornish) sings, "Don't you dare rewrite the story. I'm the beauty, you're the beast."

When introducing "Threw It Away" to the crowd, Jessie gave some backstory to what inspired the song.

"This next song I wrote in 2020 with Ryan Tedder, and you can figure out who I was dating," she said.

Jessie and Tatum, 45, dated on and off from 2018 to 2020. The pair were first linked six months after Tatum split from his ex-wife, Jenna Dewan. In November 2018, the pair confirmed their romance by supporting each other at their various events.

One year later, Jessie and Tatum split. However, their breakup was brief, as they rekindled their relationship in January 2020. Four months later, Us Weekly confirmed they called it quits for good. In October 2020, Jessie broke her silence on the breakup after taking to social media to post a video about being single.

"Single life in the pandemic is 🔮," the musician captioned the social media clip of herself twerking.

That same month, Jessie shared a cryptic quote about "unhealthy love" on social media.

"Unhealthy love is when two people expect each other to solve the others' problems. Healthy love is when two people acknowledge and address their own problems with each other's support," the message read.

Since their split, Tatum moved on with actress Zoë Kravitz whom he began dating in 2021 after meeting on set of Blink Twice. The pair got engaged in 2023 but broke up the following year. Earlier this year, the Magic Mike actor started seeing model Inka Wiliams.

Jessie, for her part, has been in a relationship with basketball player Chanan Colman since 2021. The couple welcomed their first child, son Sky, in 2023 after Jessie suffered a miscarriage two years before.

In recent news, Jessie has been battling breast cancer. Earlier this year, she had to postpone her tour as she recovered from surgery.

"So, as some of you may know, I just had breast cancer surgery eight weeks ago. Some of you may not, so that's one thing," Jessie said in a video shared via Instagram in August. "The second thing is, unfortunately, I have to have a second surgery, nothing too serious, but it has to be done before the end of the year, and unfortunately, that falls right in the middle of a tour that I had booked."

She continued, "So I'm living in the moment. I'm embracing the moment, and I'm flowing with the vibes. So that is what it is, and I'm sorry. I feel frustrated and sad, but also it is what it is, and I need to be better. I need to be healed, and I know this is the right decision to make, so I'm postponing the tour till next year."
