Jennifer Love Hewitt returns to the big screen with I Know What You Did Last Summer - 28 years after the release of the first film. It's the fourth film installment of the popular slasher franchise (which also spawned a television series), and Hewitt is a survivor featured in the first movie from 1997.

I Know What You Did Last Summer was released on July 19, 2025, and the film continues with the premise of a masked killer chasing his victims but the newest entry features a largely new cast of characters and Hewitt and original film co-star Freddie Prinze taking on supporting roles.

Who is Jennifer Love Hewitt?

Hewitt was born in Waco, Texas on February 21, 1979. She moved with her mother and brother to Los Angeles, where she starred in TV commercials and some shows.

Hewitt got the attention of viewers when she starred in the second season of the TV teen and family drama series Party of Five, which first aired in 1994 and lasted for six seasons. In 1997, she played Julie James, part of a group of friends who covered up a hit-and-run accident only to be stalked by a killer, in I Know What You Did Last Summer and its 1998 sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.

In Ghost Whisperer, she reportedly made $225,000 per episode in the 2005 season, which had 22 episodes, but her pay was reduced to $150,000 by the fifth and last season.
