Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman Goof Around on ACM Awards Red Carpet

· The Fresno Bee

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman arrived at the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards ready to have a good time.

The singer and the actress, both 57, snuggled up on the red carpet ahead of the Thursday, May 8, awards show at Ford Center in Frisco, Texas. Kidman dazzled in sleek black ensemble that included a sleeveless vinyl top, slacks and skirt overlay. Urban opted for a black suit jacket - sans shirt - showing off a glimpse of his chest.

In addition to sharing a sweet embrace, the couple shared some laughs and goofy moments. After posing together, Urban stepped aside to let his wife shine. However, he couldn't help but photobomb one picture as he stood in the background holding up a peace sign.

Urban is set to receive the Triple Crown Award during the ceremony. The accolade is given to those who have won New Artist of the Year, Artist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year over the course of their career in country music. Urban previously earned Top New Male Vocalist in 2001, Male Vocalist of the Year in 2005 and 2006 and Entertainer of the Year in 2019.

In honor of the Triple Crown achievement, Chris Stapleton, Megan Moroney and Brothers Osborne are also lined up to perform some of Urban's greatest hits during the broadcast.

Kidman was, of course, on hand to support Urban at the awards show just as he has been there for her during her own major career milestones. In June 2024, he delivered an emotional speech when she received the AFI Life Achievement Award.

"She's raw, but she's resilient. She's serious and a complete goofball," he gushed at the time. "But she also has a bit of a mantra, and that is: Choose love. Now I've watched her do this many times, navigating emotionally complex things that she's gone through with so many people. She always chooses that phrase; she lives by it. Choose love."

Urban concluded: "She has the capacity to love like no one I've ever met. And I know tonight's all about her body of work so far - so far, baby - but next year will be 20 years that I've been madly in love with you. Congratulations, baby girl, I love you."

Elsewhere during the AFI event, Urban and Kidman's daughters, Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith, 14, made their red carpet debuts alongside their parents, who have been married since June 2006.

Kidman gave her family a shout-out while accepting the award, echoing Urban's remarks about her approach to life.

"There's also the most important thing, love," she said before pointing out Urban and the couple's daughters. "Big, big love. And then right there is the love of my life, and the loves of my life."
