Love Island USA’s Clarke Learns Taylor Thinks She Might Be ‘The One’
· The Fresno BeeIt was a rocky road for Taylor Williams and Clarke Carraway in the Love Island USA villa, but Us Weekly got to break some fun news to the couple - Taylor thinks Clarke could be The One!
"I didn't hear that!" Clarke said with a big smile on her face after Us informed her of Taylor's confession on the show. "That's my first time hearing that. Interesting. When did you say that?"
Taylor laughed and replied, "Don't worry about it, sweetheart. Answer the question!"
"I love to hear that," she said. "I mean, I always have felt reassured. I love that we're on the same page."
While Taylor lives in Oklahoma City and Clarke is from Columbia, South Carolina, the twosome plan to travel "to see each other" and see how their relationship develops.
"Get her turned into a little cowgirl and see how well she does being a cowgirl," Taylor told Us when asked about their future plans. "It is something that we're going to keep going."
When Clarke told Us that she is "for sure" down to be a cowgirl, we had to point out a theory online that Taylor stopped wearing his cowboy hat when he moved on from Olandria Carthen to Clarke.
"That is so not true!" Taylor replied with a laugh. "I wore it a couple times after that. That s*** ain't true. That's actually funny."
Taylor and Clarke's journey began in Casa Amor after he was coupled up with Olandria. While he went on to explore both connections, Taylor picked Clarke - and Olandria fans on social media weren't thrilled. Taylor and Clarke were subsequently voted last in several categories in a challenge based on America's votes.
"I was not surprised. I kind of expected it," Taylor told Us. "I knew it was coming, so I just took it on the chin, was like, ‘S***, it is what it is.'"
The duo focused on each other in the villa. "We put it out of the way where we didn't have to think about what everybody else thought. It's just what we thought about each other and how we [were] gonna move forward," he said. "We didn't see it and be like, ‘Oh, America hate us.'"
When asked if there was anything he would do differently when it comes to his relationship with Olandria, Taylor said, "Not at all."
"I feel like I handled it the [best] way I could. I was very open with both of them. I'd tell both of them exactly how I was thinking and what was in my head at the time," he said. "It would be different if I wasn't telling each [person] everything and being as transparent as I was with both of them. I feel like I was transparent with both of them as much as I could. I wouldn't change anything and I wouldn't do anything different."
Clarke confirmed to Us that she felt seen in the villa. "I love honesty. So the fact that he was honest with me about how he felt about me and about him continuing to explore Olandria at the time, that's all I could ask for," she said.
She also doesn't feel any ill will toward Olandria.
"Even when I first met her, I wanted to be honest with her and let her know that I respected her and wanted to continue to explore Taylor as respectful as I could with them still having a connection," Clarke told Us. "And then even after that, she tried to give me advice and was very accepting, like, she never made me feel uncomfortable."
The Love Island USA season 7 finale airs on Peacock Sunday, July 13, at 9 p.m. ET following new episodes on Friday, July 11, and Saturday, July 12.
