Apocalyptic extraction shooter Exoborne opens new playtest signups
A public Exoborne playtest is set for February, and you can sign up now for a chance to try the apocalyptic extraction shooter early.
by Ken Allsop · PCGamesNA new Exoborne playtest will give you a chance to try the tactical extraction shooter ahead of its full release. Developer Sharkmob has been cooking up something special, blending the high stakes of Tarkov with the hyper-mobility of Warframe. If that sounds up your alley, a new playtest has just been announced that will let you experience the upcoming PC game ahead of launch and give feedback to help make it even better.
Exoborne brings the tense extraction-based PvPvE gameplay of FPS games such as Escape from Tarkov into a twisted United States that’s been transformed by natural disasters. Complementing that are its highly mobile exosuits, which accelerate the pace of the typical extraction shooter, and make Exoborne feel closer to the likes of Warframe or Titanfall 2.
The deadly rainstorms, lightning, and tornadoes juxtaposed against your character’s impressive mobility mean that Exoborne is shaping up to be one of the most high-octane extraction shooters we’ve seen to date. The good news is that if you’re eager to try it, you’ll have a chance very soon. A public playtest is set to kick off in February, and you can get your name in the hat right now for a chance to join.
“This marks our first large-scale test,” executive producer Brynley Gibson notes, “and it’s an incredibly exciting milestone for us. By entering this stage of open collaboration with the community, we’re eager to gather invaluable insights and feedback that will drive us to elevate the game to new heights.
The next Exoborne playtest is set to run from Wednesday February 12 at 5am PST / 8am EST / 1pm GMT / 2pm CET to Monday February 17 at 5am PST / 8am EST / 1pm GMT / 2pm CET. If you want to take part, head over to the game’s official Steam page and click the ‘Request Access’ button to register your interest.
If you can’t get enough of the competitive spirit, dive into the best multiplayer games to prove yourself against the rest of the pack. Then look ahead to see what other upcoming PC games 2025 has in store for us.
