Sarah Jessica Parker to receive the Carol Burnett Golden Globe
by Karen Butler · UPINov. 13 (UPI) -- Sex and the City and Hocus Pocus icon Sarah Jessica Parker is set to receive the Carol Burnett Golden Globe Award in Hollywood on Jan. 8.
"Sarah Jessica Parker's career embodies the very spirit of the Carol Burnett Award," Helen Hoehne -- president of the Golden Globes -- said in a press release Thursday.
"Her trailblazing impact on television and her dedication to storytelling across stage and screen have left an indelible mark on popular culture. We are honored to celebrate her extraordinary contributions to entertainment."
This prize will be given to Parker and the Cecil B. DeMille Award will be bestowed upon Helen Mirren three nights before the main Golden Globes ceremony takes place on Jan. 11.
Both events will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+.
Parker played Carrie Bradshaw on the HBO series Sex and the City, in the Sex and the City movies, and in the spinoff sequel series And Just Like That...
