Daniella Monet begins production on 'Victorious' spinoff
by Jessica Inman · UPIOct. 24 (UPI) -- Daniella Monet will star in Hollywood Arts, a spinoff of the Nickelodeon series Victorious.
Netflix announced Friday that production has begun on the show that will see Monet and Yvette Nicole Brown return as Trina Vega and Helen Dubois, respectively.
"Trina is back at Hollywood Arts High School, and this time she's stepping behind the desk," an official synopsis reads. "The struggling performer finds herself filling in as a substitute teacher at the prestigious school, where she surprises herself by inspiring a group of ambitious teens."
Victorious centered on student and aspiring singer Tori Vega (Victoria Justice), sister to Monet's Trina. Other original cast members included Leon Thomas III, Matt Bennett, Elizabeth Gillies, Ariana Grande and Avian Jogia.
"Coming back as Trina alongside such a dynamic, powerful cast of newcomers is something I feel very lucky and grateful to do," Monet told Netflix's Tudum.
Alyssa Miles, Emmy Liu-Wang, Peyton Jackson, Erika Swayze and Martin Kamm also star in the spinoff.
