Kirsten Dunst joins Sydney Sweeney in 'Housemaid' sequel
by Annie Martin · UPIMarch 23 (UPI) -- Kirsten Dunst has joined the cast of The Housemaid sequel.
Producers confirmed Monday that Dunst, 43, will star in the new film, titled The Housemaid's Secret.
Dunst joins Sydney Sweeney, who starred with Amanda Seyfried in the original 2025 film, The Housemaid. Michele Morrone will also return as the character Enzo, according to Deadline.
The Housemaid is a psychological thriller based on the Freida McFadden novel. The first film follows Millie (Sweeney), a young woman who becomes a live-in maid for a wealthy couple (Seyfried, Brandon Sklenar) with a dark secret.
Rebecca Sonnenshine and Paul Feig return to write and direct the sequel, respectively.
"It is a privilege to bring The Housemaid's next chapter to the screen with Kirsten Dunst. She is an icon. Her career reflects extraordinary range and fearlessness," Lionsgate Motion Picture group president Erin Westerman said. "Opposite the ever-magnetic Sydney Sweeney, she will be an electrifying force in a world where nothing is ever quite as it seems."
Dunst's most recent film credits include Roofman, Civil War and The Power of the Dog.
