Mckenna Grace, Abby Ryder Fortson, cast in 'Scooby-Doo' on Netflix

March 18 (UPI) -- Netflix on Wednesday announced the cast of its live-action Scooby-Doo series. Mckenna Grace, Tanner Hagen, Abby Ryder Fortson and Maxwell Jenkins will play the Mystery Inc. gang.

Grace plays Daphne. Fortson plays Velma. Hagen plays Shaggy and Jenkins plays Fred. The series takes place when Scooby-Doo is a puppy and the gang is at summer camp.

Netflix first announced the series from Berlanti Productions on March 26 last year. Greg Berlanti and his team executive produced Riverdale and the DC superhero shows on The CW, and You and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina for Netflix.

Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg are the writers and showrunners, also executive producers. Warner Brothers Television is the studio.

Two live-action Scooby-Doo movies starred Freddie Prinze, Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, Linda Cardellini and Matthew Lillard with a CGI dog in 2002 and 2004.
