Before dying, One Direction star Payne was given a tragic instruction moments before he plunged to his death. The dad-of-one Payne was "visibly out of his mind" when he went down to the hotel lobby in the moments leading up to his tragic death, and was told to return to his room.

He is said to have "jumped from a hotel room balcony" according to authorities. Hotel Casa Sur's head of reception had made two 911 calls, asking for 'someone to come' after disclosing that a guest was 'off his head on drugs and is destroying everything in his room'.

According to LA NACIÓN, Liam went down to the hotel lobby, 'visibly out of his mind.' The hotel called 911 to say: "We have a guest who’s off his head on drugs and is destroying everything in his room. We need someone to come.”

The head of reception had to make a second call as the line went dead and repeated his request to the female responder and said: "I don’t know if the guest’s life is in danger. The room has a balcony and we are afraid he might do something.”

Seconds later the hotel employee, who identified himself only by his first name of Esteban, added: “Just send an ambulance, only an ambulance.” Payne’s former One Direction bandmates, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan, said on Thursday evening they were “completely devastated” and will miss the singer “terribly”.

The four said in a signed statement: “In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly. The memories we shared with him will be treasured for ever.

"For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us. We will miss him terribly. We love you Liam.”
