A BBC Strictly Come Dancing star has posted a heartbreaking image of a late co-star just weeks before they died. Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Kristina Rihanoff has shared a moving memory of her late co-star Robin Windsor, who tragically died earlier this year.

Kristina, who left Strictly after the 13th series in 2015, simply captioned the moving post: "Last December... Last time [broken heart emoji]." Robin's family shared a heartbreaking tribute to the Strictly star following his death.

A statement issued in the wake of his sad passing read: "We would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and celebration of our beloved Robin. While we understand that there is a huge public and media interest around his passing, we as a family need time to process our shock and grief.

"We ask for the needs of our family and friends to be taken into consideration and for our privacy to be respected at this difficult time." Appearing on Lorraine on Tuesday 27 February, Strictly star Amy Dowden remembered Robin as a "phenomenal" dancer as she paid tribute to her late co-star.

Amy told host Lorraine Kelly how she had recently been to see Robin perform and insisted he will always be "part of the Strictly family". Amy said: "He is such a beautiful soul. I know it’s made a huge impact on the family at Strictly. I just hope he knows how loved he was."

The pro dancer went on, adding: "He made the whole room light up. I loved watching him perform, I went to watch him recently in ‘Come What May’ in Wolverhampton with my friends. He was just phenomenal. It’s been a big shock and caused a big impact. He will always remain part of the Strictly family."

Paying tribute himself, Gorka Marquez said: "I think we are a family and the loss of Robin who was part of that family... he was just a wonderful person. He was always smiling. I have memories of him smiling when it comes to the show, it was positive things for all of us. The least we can do is celebrate him because wherever he is up there, he will be dancing with us."
