Linda Nolan spoke about her heartbreaking last wish just weeks before her death. It was announced that the pop star and TV personality had passed away today aged 65 with her famous sisters by her side.

She had been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in 2017, which spread to her hip, liver and brain, after beating the disease, which claimed the life of her sister Bernie, in 2005. Speaking to OK magazine three weeks ago, Linda spoke her fears about dying and revealed her heartbreaking final wish.

She said: “I try to stay positive. I’ll use jokes and humour as a way to cope, but of course it’s scary. And I have my days where I’m terribly down.”

She added that her Christmas wish was to “keep breathing and see another one". She added: “It’s easy to sit back and get depressed about it, but I’m still going. My hope for 2025?

"To not die, obviously. I just want to be here with my family. I want us all to be here next year, that’s the goal.”

Speaking about her Christmas plans, she added: “I’ve always loved Christmas, my mum and dad would always make it so special for us.

"And that’s carried on all our lives. I still shout, “He’s been!” every Christmas morning, like I did when I was little. It’s so lovely to be with the people we love on a special day. We’ll eat, drink and sing carols. And I should point out, I won’t be cooking. I have cancer, that’s my excuse."

In a statement released to the Mirror, agent Dermot McNamara, said: "It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Nolan, the celebrated Irish pop legend, television personality, Guinness World Record holding West End star, Sunday Times bestselling author and Daily Mirror columnist.

"She passed at around 10:20am at Blackpool Victoria Hospital on the MCEW Ward. The family said the hospital couldn’t do enough, they were tireless and made it so much more bearable.

"She passed peacefully, with her loving siblings by her bedside, ensuring she was embraced with love and comfort during her final moments. Linda's legacy extends beyond her incredible achievements in music and entertainment.

"She was a beacon of hope and resilience, sharing her journey to raise awareness and inspire others. Rest in peace, Linda. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten."
