BBC star reignites feud with Joanna Page in brutal dig at Gavin and Stacey finale

by · Birmingham Live

BBC comedian Lucia Keskin has taken another swipe at Joanna Page following the Gavin and Stacey finale. The two have been embroiled in a low-key feud since Joanna harshly criticised Lucia's comedy series, Things You Should Have Done, on her podcast Off The Telly, which she co-hosts with EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy.

Lucia, also known as Chi with a C, had gained a breakthrough with the six-episode comedy, winning over fans on social media and landing a spot on the BBC. However, Joanna used her podcast to scathing effect, saying: "My mother could have written it. My mother could have done it. I just thought "My God, this is just unbearable. I’m so bored. I just genuinely am bored. I’m bored."

At the time, Lucia was clearly hurt as she responded: "Criticism is expected with everything it’s a given. HOWEVER there is a way of doing so without making someone feel terrible about their work whilst being in the industry themselves. Dealing with ‘critics’ is hard enough.’"

On Christmas Day, Lucia reignited the feud as she edited Joanna out of the opening credits of Gavin and Stacey's huge Christmas special. She wiped Joanna's character Stacey frim the screen to leave just 'Gavin... written by James Corden and Ruth Jones.'

The Gavin and Stacey Christmas special was the most-watched programme on Christmas Day, drawing in a whopping 12.5 million viewers. The much-anticipated final episode made its comeback last night, with fans taking to social media to express their joy after a five-year hiatus.

In a heartwarming finale, fans witnessed the long-awaited union of Nessa and Smithy, as Smithy declared: "But it did. And I know it's been messy and not perfect. But that's because we're messy and not perfect. But I love you, Nessa. I always have. I mean, not always, but most of the time. And I get it. You don't have to ask me. I'll ask you. Nessa, I love you. Will you marry me?"
