BBC Saturday Kitchen viewers concerned over guest who 'isn't usually like this'
by James Rodger, https://www.facebook.com/jamesrodgerjournalist · Birmingham LiveBBC Saturday Kitchen viewers have been left baffled by a guest's energetic TV appearance ahead of Christmas. Poppy O'Toole's energetic appearance on the programme, which aired on December 21, sparked confused responses fromthose tuning in at home.
Poppy joined Matt Tebbutt, 50, to teach viewers how to cook the perfect ham for Boxing Day. "'Right, Poppy, we are moving on to Boxing Day with a big old ham," Matt said, before Poppy responded: "Absolutely, you can't have Boxing Day without a big old ham... like your shirt...
"You've got them on your shirt." Matt replied: "Oh, I see... how rude." Poppy, defending herself, told him: "No, I didn't mean it in a rude way." She said: "This is going to be slow-cooked. Usually, I think, like Harry was saying, Nigella's recipe involves boiling it and using Coca-Cola and all that sort of stuff."

"Well, I'm not a complete slave to Nigella," Harry Hill, a fellow show guest, said. Poppy told him: "Well, yeah, yeah, yeah, you've mentioned her enough." Taking to Twitter, now X, one fan commented on her appearance on the show and asked: "#SaturdayKitchen Has Poppy been on the sherry this morning?!"
"Flippin heck Poppy's cackle is making my ears hurt! She's not normally this bad and loud! Is she drunk? #saturdaykitchen." said a second. A third typed: "You look [fire emoji] in that dress Poppy. Merry Xmas to you and yours."
"Poppy that looked delicious one of favs at Christmas," said another, in her defence. And another wrote: "Some t*ssers give her a hard time but that Poppy looks lovely today on Saturday Kitchen. Oh and her books for air fryer and slow cooker are top notch."
BBC Saturday Kitchen continues to air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer each and every Saturday after the channel's BBC Breakfast.
