Kate Middleton 'wants to spend more Christmases with her side of family'
by Isabelle Bates, Jessica Knibbs, https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/authors/isabelle-bates/ · Birmingham LiveKate Middleton, Prince William and their three children could be spending more Christmases away from fellow members of the royal family. It has been reported that the family plan on celebrating future festivities with the Middletons.
It comes after William and Kate skipped the traditional pre- Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace with the pair reportedly looking to make other changes when it comes to Christmas. They will join King Charles and Queen Camilla to celebrate Christmas at Sandringham again this year but this could change in the future.
Both William and Kate are looking to have more informal festivities in the future which could see the end of a traditional era for the family, a source told the Daily Mail. The pair - who are parents to George, Charlotte and Louis - could be opting for more Christmases at the home of Kate's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton.

This could become the new norm for the Royal Family who will look to resume alternating the special day between Sandrighnam and the Middletons, Daily Express reports.
Speaking to OK!, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said: "I don't think they worry particularly about how they’re perceived at Christmas but I do think that Catherine and William want to do things in a more normal way.
"They are lucky because they have their own home close to Sandringham so they’ve always been able to wake up there, do stockings and presents and then go over to the big house for the more formal celebrations."
She added that when the pair become King and Queen: “a lot of traditions will change and the exchange of presents on Christmas Eve may well be one of them".
As for this Christmas, the Prince and Princess of Wales will be staying at a nearby residence to Norfolk House with Anmer Hall being their home away from home with their three children.
The family's festive getaway follows Kate's Together At Christmas Carol Service which was one of her rare public appearances made this year to honour those helping the needy. After Christmas Day, many members of the Royal Family will be making a hasty retreat in order to fulfill their other duties.
