James Martin fans have rushed to send an urgent message to the ITV chef - after he sparked concern with his behaviour on Saturday's show. James Martin Saturday Morning aired for a Christmas special on December 21 - but viewers had a complaint.

Viewers were left concerned for the former BBC Saturday Kitchen star after he refrained from using one kitchen utensil. "@jamesmartinchef I cringed when you were using that Mandolin. Please use a food holder. Nasty things," a viewer said.

It came as James celebrated his 300th show on ITV, with a fan typing: "Congrats can you tell me the name of the wine from somerset please?" A second wrote in reply to the announcement of the line up: "Great Saturday morning program James."

It came as James' official Twitter, now X, account, was posting recipes belonging to the show. One tweet explained: "@Midsummerchef is back with this stunning dessert recipe for Tête de Moine, Celeriac Custard, Grapefruit Sorbet and Truffle Honey, with golden-crisp brioche tuiles. It's a delicate balance of flavours that will leave you wowed and wanting more!"

A second said: "Sirloin Steak with Peppercorn Sauce, perfectly seared and covered with garlic, herbs, and butter. Serve with crispy skinny fries, a fresh herby salad, and a creamy, brandy-infused peppercorn sauce."
