Netflix’s latest addition is essential viewing ahead of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning
See you at the movi... actually. See you on Netflix
by Hannah Cowton-Barnes · Tech AdvisorNext Wednesday, Misson: Impossible 8 hits cinemas across the UK. If you want to get prepared for Tom Cruise’s latest (and possibly last) entry in the action franchise, then the perfect film has just landed on Netflix’s library.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning arrived on the platform in the UK today, stunts and all. This film follows Ethan Hunt (Cruise), who goes head-to-head with both an old enemy and a villain he’s never faced before: AI.
It also includes newcomer Hayley Atwell as the thief, Grace, and some familiar characters to fans of the series, such as Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell and Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn.
But perhaps the best part of Dead Reckoning are the death-defying sequences that Cruise naturally performs himself, including a crazy leap off a cliff on a motorbike.
This film was initially billed as Dead Reckoning – Part 1, with Part 2 being the film that hit screens next week, but the names were changed after Dead Reckoning was released. Nonetheless, they make up two halves of one story, so it’s key to watch if you’re planning on grabbing tickets for The Final Reckoning.
If you’re not yet signed up for Netflix, then you can do so on the website, with subscription prices starting from as little as £5.99 per month for the Basic with Ads tier. You can check out the differences between the different Netflix plans here.
Alternatively, if you’ve got time for a full binge, Paramount+ has all seven Mission: Impossible films available to stream now. You can sign up from £4.99 per month, and new users get a seven-day free trial – so if you have the time, you could, in theory, watch them all for free, if you cancel before you’re billed.
