LETTER: Turning off the Super Bowl halftime show

I’m 84 years old, and for most of my adult life I have watched the Super Bowl and looked forward to the games, commercials and halftime entertainment. But ever since Jennifer Lopez’s performance several years ago, I have taken the halftime break to enjoy my friends and family with meals, snacks, etc. and silenced the entertainment.

This year, I will be at a Sun City watch party and will actually walk out of the halftime show and enjoy the outdoor fresh air on the patio. For those who pay thousands of dollars for tickets to the game, I hope they will do the same. Show the NFL that we want wholesome, non-controversial halftime entertainment
