The Traitors US star Rob Rausch confirms relationship status after Maura Higgins romance rumours

The Traitors US star Rob Rausch has confirmed his relationship status, following romance rumours with his co-star Maura Higgins.

The latest season of The Traitors US concluded in the United States on Thursday, where former Love Island star Maura Higgins – competing as a Faithful – made it to the final.

Maura stood in the final alongside her fellow Faithfuls Mark Ballas, Johnny Weir, and Tara Lipinski, and Traitors Eric Nam and Rob Rausch.

In the end, Rob and Maura were the last two remaining players in the game, and Maura was left devastated as Rob stole the $220,800 prize money for himself.

Throughout the season, Maura and fellow Love Island alum Rob had developed a close friendship, with some viewers questioning if there could be something more between them.

Following the explosive final episode, Rob and Maura have now addressed the speculation once and for all.

Andy Cohen, who hosted The Traitors US reunion special, bluntly asked the pair if they were ever romantically involved.

“We were genuinely just friends. That is the truth,” Maura responded, while Rob nodded his head in agreement before chiming in: “Yeah, we never did anything.”

Maura continued by noting that the pair “never had a flirt”, to which Rob teased: “I mean, we’ve probably flirted a little bit.”

Amid laughter from their co-stars, Maura replied: “I mean, we’re just having fun!”

Rob agreed: “Yeah, it was never like that.”

When asked if their friendship could turn into a romance down the line, Rob joked that he had probably ruined his chances with Maura after lying to her for the entire season.

Maura then suggested that she would forgive Rob if he bought her a designer Birkin bag with his prize money.

Later in the reunion, Andy quizzed the duo about their relationship statuses and questioned them if they are currently dating anyone.

Maura confirmed that she is single, while Rob revealed that he has a girlfriend, whom he started dating two months ago.

In a confessional in the final episode of The Traitors US, Rob stated that he doesn’t think Maura “will ever forgive me, honestly.”

He explained: “People see me as a dumb hot person, but I’ve been a Traitor from day one, and I won. I beat everyone. Now I just have to find a nice girl who hasn’t watched TV too much and then I think a nice farm, maybe some kids running around. I want to have a quiet life.”
