British actor 'set to star' in The Celebrity Traitors after TURNING DOWN first series

British actor Danny Dyer is reportedly “set to star” in the next season of The Celebrity Traitors after turning down the first series.

The 48-year-old reportedly had “zero interest” in the series the first time round, before “changing his tune” after watching the likes of Alan Carr take the nation by storm.

In the first season, Alan went all the way, convincing the Faithfuls he was one of them, before taking all the money at the end, revealing himself as a Traitor from the beginning.

A source told The Sun of Danny Dyer’s reported signing: “Danny was always top of The Celebrity Traitors wish list but had zero interest until seeing the fun and games last autumn. As soon as his tune changed, it was all systems go.”

“Danny is a reality TV booker’s dream signing and will be incredible value, as he’s naturally funny but in a totally different way to Alan Carr.”

The source continued: “Bosses don’t want to repeat the same formula and he’ll be absolute gold. As we saw with Daisy May Cooper for series one, things can change at the last minute, but Danny looks all set to join filming up in the Highlands later this year.”

The former EastEnders actor joins the likes of Alison Hammond and Ruth Jones, who are also rumoured for the upcoming series.

The report comes after Danny Dyer spoke out about his eagerness to take part in series two.

During a recent episode of his Live and Let Dyer podcast, the 48-year-old admitted that he had been approached by the BBC to take part in the first series.

“They did sniff around me about it. It was a ‘no’ from me because for one I hadn’t seen it, but now I’m into it. If you’re going to do it, if you’re famous, it needs to be an indulgence project — you have to love the game,” Danny explained.

“It’s quite a simple game, I thought it was too complicated but it’s actually just about manipulating people and a lot of lying,” he shared, before adding: “If the money’s right, I might get involved in the next series.”
