Coronation Street legend and I'm A Celeb star joins the cast of RTÉ's Fair City

It’s official! Coronation Street legend Beverley Callard has joined the cast of RTÉ’s Fair City.

The beloved actor, known for her unforgettable roles and iconic screen presence, will make her Fair City debut on February 19th, 2026.

Beverley is stepping into the role of Gwen’s long-lost mother Lily – quirky, unpredictable and sharp as a tack, she carries just enough edge to keep Carrigstown on its toes!

In a statement, RTÉ said you “won’t want to miss what she brings to the community”.

The 68-year-old is best known for playing Liz McDonald on Coronation Street.

However, the actress quit her iconic role as the Rovers Return landlady in 2019 after 30 years on-screen.

The following year, Beverley signed up to appear on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, which was filmed in Wales instead of Australia amid the coronavirus pandemic.

She will also appear on the upcoming I’m A Celebrity All Stars show, which was filmed in South Africa last year.

The series is set to air on ITV this spring, ahead of a live final in May.
