Kylie Jenner's former assistant Victoria Villarroel reveals the awkward moment she knew she had to quit

Kylie Jenner’s former assistant, Victoria Villarroel, has revealed the awkward moment she knew she had to quit.

The 34-year-old worked as the reality star’s personal assistant from 2015 to 2020, and developed a close friendship with the makeup mogul.

Speaking on her podcast with Kylie’s other BFF Stassie Karanikolaou, Victoria recalled the awkward moment she knew it was time to move on from her position.

“This is like year five,” Victoria explained. “Me and Kylie, obviously we had a working relationship.

“But you can’t not get so close to a person that you see every single day and you know everything about and you’re with them at all times, good or bad. You just become close to this person.”

Victoria recalled being in the kitchen with Kylie when she said she needed her laptop, which was upstairs.

“And I was like, ‘Oof, who’s gonna get that?’” Victoria laughed. “’I don’t want to go get your laptop.’”

In that moment, the pair realised Victoria was no longer in a position to be her assistant, who is supposed to cater to her every need.

“[Kylie] was amazing. I remember being so nervous and thinking, like, ‘Am I making the right decision? What if I’m leaving the best thing – best job I could ever have?’” Victoria said.

“’Cause people were in my ear being like, ‘You’re gonna leave? People would die for this job.’”

However, Victoria recalled Kylie telling her: “‘Oh my god, Vic, I want you to thrive, and I’m gonna be here supporting you. And I love you so much.'”

Victoria initially interned at Teen Vogue, before she joined Kris Jenner’s company, Jenner Communications as an office manager.

Kris then hired her to be an assistant for her youngest daughters, Kendall and Kylie.

However, Victoria confessed “it became too difficult to do both of them at the same time.”

Victoria said it made more sense for her to stick with Kylie, as she was launching Kylie Cosmetics at the time.

But she made sure not to leave Kendall in the lurch, as she suggested her sister, Sofia Villarroel, work as her assistant. 

“I told Kendall, I was like, ‘Please don’t hate me. I have a peace offering: my sister, my DNA,’” she laughed.

“’Basically you get me, but you probably will like her more because she’s way more like you.’”
