Legendary actress Catherine O’Hara dies aged 71
· GOSS.ieLegendary actress Catherine O’Hara has died aged 71.
In a statement, her agency CAA confirmed she passed away at her home in Los Angeles on Friday “following a brief illness”.
Her cause of death remains unclear.
The actress is best known for playing Macaulay Culkin’s mother Kate McCallister in the first two ‘Home Alone’ movies.
She also played Moira Rose in the Emmy award-winning series Schitt’s Creek from 2015 – 2020.
Her other notable acting credits Beetlejuice and Best in Show.
Most recently, Catherine starred opposite Seth Rogen in the Apple TV+ series, The Studio, which earned her an Emmy nomination.
Catherine is survived by her husband of 33 years, Bob Welch, and their two sons, Matthew, 31, and Luke, 29.
Catherine met her production designer husband on the set of 1988’s Beetlejuice.
They got married in 1992, and went to welcome their two sons.
