BBC Radio 2 presenter Scott Mills said his friend and co-star Rylan Clark is longing for a love like his, following his wedding to husband Sam Vaughan in Spain last year.

Scott, who tied the knot with his partner Sam Vaughan last year, says his good friend Rylan admires their relationship and has expressed a desire to find a similar connection for himself.

In an interview with Notebook Magazine, the 52-year-old shared: "Rylan needs to find his version of Sam because that's what he needs."

Revealing a comment Rylan made to him previously, he added: "Sometimes Rylan is like, 'Oh, I wish I had someone like Sam' and it's like, 'Hey, you have got all the time in the world'. I know deep down he would love to find somebody."

Scott says it "took a long time" to find Sam, adding: "It's worth it in the end."

Rylan, who rose to fame on The X Factor, was previously married to Dan Neal from 2015 until their split in 2021.

In his 2022 memoir Ten: The Decade That Changed My Future, Rylan confessed that infidelity on his part was what led to their separation.

"I have no excuses for what I did way back then, but I had my reasons," he disclosed in his book. "I think for many years I had felt a bit like an imposter, that nothing I was doing was right or not quite good enough."

While Rylan has been back on the dating scene since, he hasn't made any official announcements regarding a new partner.

However, earlier this week, he revealed he was no longer on the dating apps.

Speaking to his BBC co-star Zoe Ball, he said: "I'm not on the apps no more. I've come off all the apps and I'm alright."

Zoe went on to say: "You've got a twinkle in your eye. I know you always have a twinkle in your eye, but that's a particularly big one."

In an apparent attempt to divert away from the topic, Rylan quipped that it could be a stye.

The presenter is no stranger to being at the centre of speculation when it comes to his love life.

Last year, he shut down rumours that he and his BBC co-star Rob Rinder could be more than friends.

Speaking on Jessie and Lennie Ware's Table Manners podcast, he said: "I find it funny because I adore him, but we are like a married couple, we row all the time and we don't have sex."

Last November, while participating in a YouTube Q&A, Rylan described himself as "very single", adding: "Don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind one [a partner].

"I'm pretty content on my own, I'm quite a busy boy. I know I keep moaning that I'm single, but it's actually quite nice to do what I want, when I want where I want, with who I want."
