'Top Gun 3' is officially in the works with Tom Cruise back for the 'Maverick' sequel.

The highly anticipated sequel will see the return of Pete "Maverick" Mitchell and producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

Top Gun 3 has been teased for a while now, but this week at CinemaCon, Paramount film co-head Josh Greenstein gave the update, “ Top Gun 3 officially in development with a script well underway, reuniting Tom Cruise and Jerry Bruckheimer.” There was no mention of a director at this point, but

The film is a follow-up to Cruise’s ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and has been in the works for some years now with the co-writer of ‘Maverick’ Ehren Kruger hired to write the script two years ago.
