US Singer Justin Timberlake Diagnosed With Lyme Disease
by Doris Ijeoma Israel · Naija NewsAmerican Pop singer Justin Timberlake has revealed he is battling Lyme disease, Naija News reports.
The Cry Me A River singer described the condition as draining and difficult.
The 44-year-old performer opened up about his health on Thursday, shortly after wrapping up his tour.
He shared that he had been dealing with unexplained symptoms like extreme fatigue, pain, and illness, which were later confirmed to be caused by Lyme disease.
Timberlake explained that the diagnosis helped him make sense of the physical struggles he faced during performances.
Despite fans complaining that some shows lacked energy, he said he had been pushing through intense nerve pain and mental stress.
He said: “Among other things, I’ve been battling some health issues, and was diagnosed with Lyme disease which I don’t say so you feel bad for me but to shed some light on what I’ve been up against behind the scenes.
“Living with this can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically. When I first got the diagnosis I was shocked for sure. But, at least I could understand why I would be onstage and in a massive amount of nerve pain or just feeling crazy fatigue or sickness”.
Lyme disease is caused by a bacteria spread by tick bites, mostly in forested areas of North America and Europe.
