Who is she?

If Lady Louise will achieve her goal of becoming an army officer, she would be the first royal woman to serve in the Armed Forces since the late Queen, who held the rank of Junior Commander in the Auxiliary Territorial Service in 1945.

It's clear that she is determined to remain grounded. According to insiders, she worked at the university campus canteen—the same place where Prince William and Princess Kate first met in 2001. Demonstrating her modesty, Lady Louise declined to use her title, Her Royal Highness Princess Louise, when she turned 18. Instead, she took a £6.83-an-hour job (approximately 8 euros) at a garden center in Surrey before heading to university. On her 21st birthday last year, Lady Louise was photographed dancing with her boyfriend, Felix da Silva-Clamp, whom she is believed to have been dating for some time.

He works part-time at an ice cream shop in St Andrews while studying. In a previous interview, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, stated that she believed it was "highly unlikely" that either Lady Louise or her son James, Earl of Wessex, would adopt their Royal Highness titles once they turned 18. James will turn 18 later this year, but Sophie's prediction about her daughter has proven true. "We try to raise them with the understanding that they will most likely have to work for a living. That's why we decided not to use the HRH titles. They have them and can choose to use them from the age of 18, but I think it's highly unlikely," Sophie explained.

She was "The Queen's favorite granddaughter"

Lady Louise was said to be the favorite granddaughter of Prince Philip and the Queen. In fact, as a child, she once came home from St George's School in Windsor and told Sophie, "People keep telling me that Grandma is the Queen."

But Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor's life has been normal since the day she was born: she was the first member of the royal family to be born in a National Health Service hospital. Prince Edward was on a royal tour to Mauritius when Sophie went into labor four weeks early in November 2003. At 38, she was supposed to give birth to her first child at the private Portland Hospital in London. But Sophie, who had been airlifted to hospital with an ectopic pregnancy two years earlier, collapsed with severe stomach pains at Bagshot Park, the couple's £30 million home in Surrey. She was taken by ambulance to Frimley Park Hospital in Camberley, under armed escort, where her daughter was born by emergency cesarean section, lasting three hours.
