New Delhi, Jul 11: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) rescued two crew members from a stranded U.S. sailing vessel, Sea Angel, approximately 52 nautical miles southeast of Indira Point in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The rescue operation was carried out on July 10 amid rough sea conditions.

The yacht was rendered immobile after suffering sail damage and a fouled propeller. Following a distress alert, the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) in Port Blair activated emergency protocols and issued alerts to nearby merchant vessels. ICG Ship Rajveer was dispatched to the site and established communication with the crew. An on-site assessment confirmed that both individuals were safe and in good health despite the challenging conditions. The vessel was successfully towed and escorted to Campbell Bay harbour on the morning of July 11.
